The two beet lovers met in the summer of 2022. At a cafe in Sannomiya, Kobe, Sakai, a former professional soccer player, and Yamada, who is involved in local agriculture, met with the idea of "supporting athletes' success through Japanese agriculture." The two people hit it off and started the business. When Sakai was a soccer player in Germany, his trainer recommended beets to Japanese athletes, and Yamada wanted to bridge the gap between local agriculture and daily life. From there, we met with producers and craftsmen, and continued to develop products, leading us to where we are today.

Beets as a food culture that brings joy to everyday life, and as sports science that supports those who challenge their limits, both lead to people's happiness and health. We will create honest products without lies, from production to processing, all within the scope of what you can see.

Grown in Hyogo and Kyoto prefectures with 16 producers
Our beets are grown naturally without pesticides, so they are strong beets - just taste them and you'll know it.
All of our production areas are located within a three-hour drive from Kobe, where we are based, making it easy for us to meet and talk at any time, and we feel that this distance is important for creating quality products.
In addition, recent climate change has caused noticeable changes in temperature and rainfall patterns. There is also an urgent need to take measures against animal damage caused by deer and wild boars. Furthermore, aging and population decline in mountainous areas are becoming increasingly serious problems. Although it is not possible to solve all of these problems at once, I believe that by creating an ecosystem for cultivating beets in the region, a new future will become visible.

私たちは希少な野菜「ビーツ」ばかり扱う小さな食品メーカー、BETTE(ベッテ)と申します。兵庫県と京都府で農薬を使わずに栽培した美味しいビーツのみを使って、食卓を彩る「セイカツ」と、アスリートを支える「ウンドウ」の2つのシリーズを手がけています。

創業者/FOUNDER
酒井高聖
1996年、新潟県出身。元プロサッカー選手。2022年、ドイツで現役を引退後、兄の酒井高徳がプレーする神戸に拠点を移し、兵庫県神戸市東灘区にカフェ「Alster&Garten」をオープン。また、ドイツでプレーしていた際にトレーナーに勧められてよく食べていたビーツを、日本のアスリートにも広められるよう「さかいのびーつ(現:BETTE)」を設立。現在はカフェ事業に集中するために一線を退いているが、アスリート向けの商品開発などに携わっている。

山田真輝
1994年、大阪生まれ。3歳からブラジル、ニカラグア、インドで育つ。慶應義塾大学在学中に、青山ファーマーズマーケットの企画運営に携わったことがきっかけで、様々な生産者に食や農業の面白さを教わる。2019年に神戸に活動拠点を移す。現在は、「BETTE」の他、食・農・伝統産業を横断するプロジェクトマネジメント会社「GYONINBEN」の代表、「ため池みらい研究所」の特別研究員、「一般社団法人taru」を実践や表現の軸に置く。美味しい食の追求、地域づくり、農村の持続的な発展、AIが発展する中でのより人間らしい暮らしとは何かを探求している。
